greencoke asked:

I have been looking for the popular vote total and have not been able to find the popular vote total for all of the primaries, and what I have found so far is that, with all the states that have released the popular vote total for their primaries, Clinton is leading 17,160,167 votes to Obama’s 16,804,164.

Has anyone found anything that contradicts this?

    thats probably about right.
unfortunately for Hillary, popular vote is NOT how someone wins the nomination. — or the general election..

Some Hillary supporters here don’t understand the basic nomination process…

If I’m wrong, then Al Gore is president.

Popular vote, and delegates won’t matter in this race it seems the superdelegates will have the last say.Looks like Clinton has a double digit lead in South Dakota, and not far behind in Montana.

Obama wants to talk to hillary at her time and her place, and hope she refuses the Vp job if thats what he’s going to ask her., because she is worth more.

He’s is not electable without her,and she should be in Charge.
    as president.

Whatever Happens,I don’t believe the Democratic Party treated Hillary fairly, and I think they are a Underhanded Party.imo

Your polls numbers are way off, we are up to over 17 million shares already for Hillary and you can;’t count votes in Michigan Obama never received.

No, you have the right information, and this is exactly what Hillary is now arguing. All of us Democrats remember the fiasco in Florida and the whole issue with the electoral votes versus the popular votes during the general election. We as Democrats at that time said it should be based on Popular votes, and now those who support Obama say even though he wont reach the magic number of 2118 that he is ahead in the delegates and there for should be given the nominee. They are now doing the exact opposite of what they wanted before. It seems as though they want a republican in office again.

your numbers are right, but the people we put in Washington can’t count or just want to ignore whet we the people want!! KURT S hit it right on the head.

The number I came up with (adding everything seperately twice using CNN and RCP’s numbers) is:

    Popular Vote Total - Obama 17,565,598 to Clinton 17,689,979 — [Clinton +124,381]
    Estimates w/IA, NV, ME, WA* - Obama 17,899,691 to Clinton 17,913,841 — [Clinton +14,150]

**That factors 75% of undecided in MI as Obama votes which is what the MI Dem Party stated at the RBC meeting on Saturday

However, since that time, Real Clear Politics has changed it’s numbers (not sure where or how) and CNN is saying the caucus estimates are double (so instead of 360,000 caucus votes for Obama he has close to 700,000 - which I dispute personally)

Also note that WA held a caucus and a primary. RCP uses the total votes from the caucus in the Obama total (which is used on mine as well). If you use the primary results instead, he loses 50,000 votes.

One other note, Real Clear Politics includes ALL “undecided” votes in Michigan as Obama votes in their estimates. Clearly that is incorrect since “undecided” gets votes in every primary and that would mean Edwards, Richardson, etc never got a single vote in Michigan… yet Dodd and Gravel did.

The numbers I have w/o any Michigan votes for Obama are:

    Popular Vote Total - Obama 17,386,972 to Clinton 17,689,979 — [Clinton +303,007]
    Estimates w/IA, NV, ME, WA* - Obama 17,721,065 to Clinton 17,913,841 — [Clinton +192,776]

Again, RCP’s numbers changed since that time although there may have been a few more votes out of Puerto Rico after I did mine (it was 99% reporting at that time)
